Vivo Y21t Mobile Review and Price in Pakistan

Vivo Y21t

Vivo Y21t is the latest Smartphone of Vivo’s exciting series which is made by China and released in Pakistan on 03 January 2022.

The most attractive thing about this device is its enticing price tag, it has full specifications and if you are looking for a normal daily-use smartphone then look no further because I am quite sure that Vivo Y21t will satisfy all your requirements at this very competitive price range.

Also if you are looking forward to buy a mid-range smartphone but don’t want to spend too much on it then again here it is waiting for you.

The first thing that caught my attention when I saw Vivo’s official presentation was its design. It has a premium metal uni-body so I was expecting this phone to be the lightest in the industry.

But when I received my unit and measured it with a digital weighing machine then I found that the weight of Vivo Y21t is 182 grams which is quite normal for a 6.5 inches Smartphone.

The front side of this device looks great but at the same time feels a little plasticky because of plastic bezels on sides.

But in comparison to other Chinese smartphones under Rs 35,000 in Pakistan the design of this phone is good looking and feels comfortable while holding it with one hand.

This phone does not have a Home Button or side-mounted Navigation Keys, instead Android’s on screen navigation keys are there so the front part looks clean and neat, however a fingerprint scanner is (side mounted) which means that fingerprint is on the side of the phone.

Vivo Y21t price in Pakistan

Vivo Y21t 128GB Rs.32,900

The top of the device houses a 3.5 mm audio jack and secondary noise cancellation mic while bottom has primary mic, USB type C 2.0 port for charging & data transfer and loudspeaker grills.

The right edge contains volume rockers and power buttons whereas left has SIM tray opened by using pin to eject it from back side, two slots inside the SIM tray support nano + micro SIM cards at once but you can use just one double slot either 1st Nano SIM+2nd Nano SIM or 1st micro SIM+2nd Micro SIM.

The back panel has a 50 MP camera at top right side, a 5 MP Camera sensor is right below it and dual-tone LED Flash on its left bottom.

At the very right edge of the rear this phone has a metallic Vivo Logo which also serves as an antenna for better signal-strength.

Vivo Y21t has got a high resolution IPS lcd display with 720 x 1600 pixels resolution so videos and movies play great on it, but the only drawback I found was that brightness levels are low in comparison to other phones in this range, however if you have proper lightning then it will not be an issue for you or else you can use Vivo’s Eye Protection Mode which reduces brightness at low levels.

The touch-sensitivity of Vivo Y21t is good but sometimes I felt unresponsive during scrolling or when it comes to selecting a few items in the scrolling list.

I measured the color accuracy and contrast ratio of this device with Spyder4Elite Colorimeter and it scored full marks in both tests, 100% Color Gamut means that colors will be reproduced exactly as per manufacturer’s specification during video & image playback, only if it has got appropriate backlight then you can enjoy life like colors on its large Scratch-resistant display.

To check the pixel density which affects display sharpness & picture quality, I took a photo through Spyder4Elite at 30cm distance with Vivo Y21t held in Landscape mode (Horizontal).

As per Lab Test Photos, Vivo Y21t has good color accuracy and contrast levels as well as high resolution screen but it’s not giving its best performance under bright sunny conditions.

This device has got 50 MP rear camera with dual-tone LED flash support and an 8 MP front shooter for selfies, both cameras can take detailed shots in daylight but indoor or low-light photos are average only.

Daylight Shots taken by this phone have good amount of detail although some noise is always there especially if you zoom the photo, but after applying a little noise reduction algorithm in its default editor photos look pretty cleaned up.

The device has got a powerful Octa-core Qualcomm SM6225 Snapdragon 680 4G (6 nm) Processor clocked at 2.4 GHz which is a 64-bit chipset and has Adreno 610 GPU for good gaming performance under medium to high graphics load, the all-round multimedia experience on this smartphone is great even with heavy usage including playing games, multi-tasking between apps & browser surfing etc.

This Vivo’s FunTouch OS interface has got some useful features like:

TouchPal X keyboard which comes inbuilt in this device, it’s really great and customizable with in-built apps and can help user in typing text quickly but it also needs improvement when it comes to compatibility for few websites which support Swipe Text input method, I tried that while writing this review and found little issues.

First off all double tap screen wakeup feature works perfectly fine than checked on other devices, then there is a Smart Motion Unlocking which allows you to draw different patterns anywhere on the screen to unlock it’s no need to draw pattern twice, you can also take selfies with double-tap screen wakeup & smart motion feature.

As there are two hardware buttons (home & recent apps) at bottom of display which consumes extra space instead of capacitive or onscreen buttons, so if you want then you can use Vivo’s Floating Dock Menu option which pops-up above home button as soon as press & hold that, you can access app drawer from here, open multi window for split-screen multitasking etc.

I personally don’t like this kind of thing because it’s not giving me any benefits because even though I have got the onscreen navigation bar enabled, its overlay cannot be adjusted accordingly so always it occupies more than half screen which looks odd.

There is also an App Clone option to clone your apps but that will require you to pay for it through Google Play Store, it’s not for free like other manufacturers like Samsung offer their handsets with Smart Manager application for this kind of stuff.

This device has annoying notifications on the lock screen which eats up extra space and hides notification content. There is no way to disable these types of ads through notification settings or creating black lists because they can be only disabled by paying money through in-app purchase routes.

The good thing about Vivo Y21t is fingerprint scanner (side mounted) which works very well and quickly unlock the phone within fraction of seconds even when display is off, I really like this feature because there are many other budget devices available in market which offer fingerprint scanner but they are very slow because of software optimization.

There is no LED notification light available on this device to know about any incoming notifications or missed calls.

Detailed Specifications

Display

The design of the phone looks quite standard but it has a fingerprint scanner that is located at right side of the phone.

The display of the phone is 6.5 inches with 720 x 1600 pixels resolution which are not that impressive in terms of features offered but it is better to be included in budget phones because normally people want these features at lower prices and neglect build quality especially when they are looking for discontinued brands.

Processor

Vivo Y21t is packed with Qualcomm SM6225 Snapdragon 680 4G (6 nm) chipset which has octa-core processor clocked at 2.4GHz speed and it’s really impressive for a low range phone because it provides great functionality in terms of day-to-day usage to the users without crashing or hanging even when multiple apps are open in background so this is an important feature that makes it differ from other devices.

Build

It runs on Android 11 FuntochOS 12 (vivo customized) which supports multiple languages and expandable memory up to 256GB via a micro SD card slot provided in SIM tray.

Memory

The device has 4GB RAM and 128 GB internal storage which is expandable up to 256GB via micro SD cards so there is no problem in terms of memory especially when you consider the price range.

Color

The best thing about this phone is availability in multiple color variants such as blue and white which allow users to choose their favorite color depending on their personality.

Dimension

Vivo Y21t has dimensions of 164.26 x 76.08 x 8.0mm whereas weight without battery is 157 grams so this makes this phone bulky to hold for longer period but its weight can be neglected because with battery installed its weight is 182 grams which are standard for phones having display sizes above 5 inches.

Connectivity

Talking about connectivity options, it has Bluetooth, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, GPS and micro USB 2.0 slot for data transfer and charging purpose only while FM radio is also available with recording option.

There is also 3G and 4G LTE support on this device so you can enjoy high speed mobile internet via sim card inserted in this phone and Wi-Fi can be used to make your browsing experience fast when connected to good quality broadband service provider at home or office which makes this phone useful for people who are not daily internet user because most of the time they use mobile data for emails, messaging and browsing whereas few multimedia activities can be performed by connecting phone with tv via OTG cable.

Camera

Vivo Y21t has 50MP main camera on its back side with LED flash feature while there is 8MP selfie camera available on front with LED flash support but if we talk about picture quality then this phone performs fine in natural or well-lighted conditions but when you will go out to take pictures under low lighting conditions then you will see some noise or fuzziness on your captured images so picture quality cannot be considered as decent.

Battery

The device is packed with 5,000mAh battery which will give you average battery life without any problem but if we talk about charging then it takes around 2 hours to charge its massive battery from 0% to 100% so this is the downside of this device because most of the other brands are now focusing on making their devices fast-charging enabled so that users can charge their phones easily even when they are in hurry.

Price

Talking about its price, Y21t can be purchased by spending just Rs 34,999 Pakistani Rupees which makes it a very affordable phone for everyone especially youngsters who want to buy low budget smartphones for daily usage such as calling, messaging and internet browsing etc.

Conclusion:

Vivo Y21T is a decent smartphone with good features and specifications, it has good quality display, good looking design and build, customizable user interface with some bloatware but at same time it has got many pre-installed apps which looks annoying when seen in Android.
